About Body Positive image
Hi

I'm Rachel, founder and owner of Body Positive Fitness, the gym for people who don't do gyms!

I'm not your normal gym owner, and Body Positive is not your normal gym! I'm not young, thin or constantly posting on Instagram, however I have 23 years experience in teaching and, after to coming to fitness later in life, a passion for seeing people achieve things they never thought possible! When a personal trainer spotted that I am naturally strong and excel in lifting and Strongwoman, and that I also had an ability to train and coach others, I was encouraged to begin working in a small gym and loved it! After studying for the relevant qualifications, I decided to start out on my own!

My motto is, if I can, anyone can!

I set up Body Positive Fitness with the aim of creating an inclusive and fun environment, where people of all ages, fitness levels and body types could train and get fit in a gym that strives to be different and exceed your expectations!

So what make Body Positive different....

  • We keep our classes small so that monitoring, advice, support and encouragement is always available
  • Small classes also mean that all fitness levels can be catered for, beginners can follow adapted exercises, more experienced clients can be challenged!
  • We have a wide range of equipment (some quite unusual!) that means our classes are up to date and never get boring!
  • We have a wide range of memberships and a varied timetable, so there's something for everyone! Plus you only need to give a month's notice, but we know you'll never want to leave!
  • As well as classes, you can book personal training (PT) and shared PT sessions. A completely private session planned around your fitness goals and full of the exercises that you enjoy!
  • No 'ghost members'! Ie people paying but not attending. If you miss sessions, we'll make contact to find out why! We want you in the gym, having fun and getting fit!
  • We are constantly reflecting on our practice and love to hear what our members have to say! If you want something, we'll do our best to make it happen!
  • Our members are amazing! We welcome everyone, judge no one and love to celebrate success!
So, what are you waiting for? If you've tried 'normal gyms' and they weren't for you or if you've always been too nervous to join a gym, then try us out! Don't wait to get fitter, lose weight, find a friend to come with you... check out the website/Facebook, get in touch and come and see what we're about!

Body Positive is the last gym you'll ever need to join!

Hope to see you soon,
Rachel

Hi

I'm Rachel, founder and owner of Body Positive Fitness, the gym for people who don't do gyms!

I'm not your normal gym owner, and Body Positive not your normal gym! I'm not young, thin or constantly posting on Instagram, however I have 23 years experience in teaching and, after to coming to fitness later in life, a passion for seeing people achieve things they never thought possible! I started working in fitness after my previous PT spotted that I naturally strong and excelled in lifting and Strongwoman training (something I never thought i would want to do, let alone love!) and I also had an ability to train and coach others. I obtained my level 2 gym Instructor qualification, began working in a small gym and loved it! I then worked on getting my Level 3 qualification so I could deliver Personal Training and decided to start out on my own! My motto is, if I can, anyone can!

In July 2019 I set up Body Positive Fitness to follow my passion and create an inclusive and fun environment, where people of all ages, fitness levels and body types could train and also to give those who don't enjoy the traditional gym set up an alternative fitness experience. At Body Positive we deliver small classes that are accessible to all, regardless of ability. Complete beginners will feel supported and empowered whilst the fittest of athletes will be challenged and pushed to achieve! We can do this so effectively because we keep our classes small, and have a wide range of equipment so there are always a variety of alternatives available for different levels of fitness. We cater for all, men, women, fit, unfit, young and old!

We have different levels of membership available, or pay as you go, so there's something for everyone. And remember, we don't have 'ghost members' ie those who are paying but not attending (a major source of revenue for large corporate gyms!) If you don't come to classes, you'll get a gentle reminder or a text to check you're ok, this makes our membership great value for money because you actually use it! Plus all our memberships only require 28 days notice to cancel!

If classes aren't for you, or you can't find anything on our timetable that suits your routine, 1:1 Personal Training is available. This is a session dedicated to your and your personal fitness goals, where the exercises and intensity reflect what you enjoy and what you would like to achieve. During these times you have exclusive access to the gym so your session is completely private, ensuring you feel totally comfortable, relaxed and perhaps able to try new things?!
Shared PT is also available, so if you have a small group of friends and colleagues, you can work out together using plans created for your group enjoying exclusive use of the gym and the undivided attention of the instructor. A great way to reduce the cost of PT whist enjoying many of the benefits.

So, what are you waiting for? If you've tried normal gyms and found they didn't motivate or support you, then check us out!

Don't wait to get fitter, lose weight, find a friend to come with you... check out the website/Facebook, get in touch and come and see what we're about!

Body Positive is the last gym you'll ever need to join!
